lyrics

Lost yourself in the factory
conveyor belt, highway of manufacturing
you put your hands up, smokestacks to the sky,
cus the roof can't block the sunlight from your eyes

and the last time we spoke you mentioned anger,
you mentioned danger, i promised i'd keep you in range
of my closest contact, but i didnt know how to act
when it all fell, like raindrops through the cracks

and development came, slowly but sharply,
remember the nights when we would listen to our heartbeat
syncopated rythms of the multitrack arteries
drop by drop, we could go where we ought to be

so we went there, you told me not to be scared
we werent what they meant when they said that we should beware
then we drew in our sleep every corner of the street
and mapped the roads to our dreams to keep

a carbon copy of the moment before it became it old
to the highest bidder sold. lemme give it up to take hold
of myself
and i can't figure out where you dwell

broken lense, and i cant see in
i can look through, i try to pretend
and ive walked through the smoke that the winter still frosts
but maybe youre not lost, you just ran outta my thoughts

so i guess you can blame me
for giving up this fast, but maybe,
ive grown tired of the thought of still looking around
with feet deep in the ground, you told me, no one could stop us now

yeah, well tide is out
now only memories flow through this concrete town
with the cardboard figures of the people as they pass
and their penetrating gaze, like the light through the glass

and nowadays i sit alone to drown in the flask
heavy heart on my sleeve, that belongs in the trash
and the pieces that i keep, as i sift through the ash
just remind me of the person that was gone too fast

Lost yourself in the factory
conveyor belt, highway of manufacturing
you put your hands up, smokestacks to the sky,
and the roof didn't block the sunlight from your eyes

broken lense, and i cant see in
i can look through, i try to pretend
and ive walked through the smoke that the winter still frosts
but maybe youre not lost, you just ran outta my thoughts

how many times i gotta go to the steps
and then i turn around because there is nothing left
you wont know that i will never forget
cus that last thing you said was that memories fade
